Commissioners reacted positively and asked staff to coordinate with the city communications team to ensure posted materials meet digital-accessibility requirements.
City staff member Elizabeth Crowe noted the city must make documents digitally accessible and recommended working with communications to convert slides to accessible web content rather than posting PDFs where possible. Christian Phillips agreed to coordinate with Jorge and communications staff to develop a web-friendly version and the QR handout.
Staff also provided community-event updates funded through the Human Relations Fund, including Immigrant Heritage Month programs, a Juneteenth flag-raising at Penfield-Tate Municipal Building, and Pride-related events. Christian Phillips noted the HHS newsletter was posted and will be shared in meeting follow-up materials.
Follow-up items: staff will schedule a meeting between Commissioner Martinez and communications staff to discuss web posting and QR-card distribution; staff will post the meeting packet and materials to the HRC webpage.
