Sweetser council approves $3,300 HSA deposits for eligible employees; waives resident late fees

The Sweetser Town Council approved a plan to fund employees’ Health Savings Accounts with $3,300 per year for each eligible employee, voting in favor at the March 27, 2025 meeting. The funds will be deposited into employees’ HSA accounts as a single lump sum, the council recorded.
Travis LeMaster moved the HSA funding motion and it was seconded; the minutes record Matt Moore, Kyle Taylor and Travis LeMaster voting aye and Tyler Wineinger and Warren Dailey recorded absent. Council discussion noted the current in‑network deductible and the in‑network out‑of‑pocket maximum are both listed at $3,300 for plan participants.
The HSA decision was accompanied by routine financial approvals. The council also voted to approve the payroll docket of March 21, 2025 and the bills docket of March 27, 2025 as submitted. That motion, moved by Travis LeMaster and seconded by Tyler Wineinger, passed with the same vote tally.
Separately, the clerk presented a request to waive late fees on an account belonging to resident Clarence Ragan. Travis LeMaster moved to waive the late fees; Tyler Wineinger seconded. The motion carried with the same recorded ayes and absences.
The council did not record any dissenting votes on these items. The meeting adjourned at 7:26 p.m.; the next council meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2025.
