WABASH CITY — City stormwater and sewer staff told the Wabash City Storm Water Management panel on Dec. 16, 2025 that several stormwater projects and sanitary-sewer cross-connection work are planned for next year and that ordinance language and fee schedules will be updated.
An agency official said a set of projects is being scoped and that final drawings for a pickleball court are expected after painting and paving work are finished. The official also said crews are preparing for about a dozen sanitary sewer connections to be addressed in locations with cross-connections.
The official said the department is assembling costs related to a large storm last April that led to "a couple claims against the city for water damage" in the Spring Street area near the hospital; staff said they are compiling expenses and will present cost estimates later.
Members discussed delays to paving projects, including work on an East Street overpass that was pushed to spring because of unusually cold weather. Staff said they plan a coordinated ordinance clean-up and fee changes next year to align with EPA-related local limits and county practices; some fees have not been updated in over 30 years.
Next steps: staff will finalize project scopes and cost estimates, assemble a consolidated ordinance/fee revision package and report back to the panel. The meeting moved on to other business and adjourned.
