At its Oct. 10 meeting the Sweetser Town Council approved several administrative and maintenance actions, including vehicle repairs, payroll and bills, and seasonal hours for Halloween.
Travis LeMaster moved and Warren Dailey seconded approval of the October 4 payroll docket and the October 10 bills docket; the council voted Aye. Later in the meeting, after discussion about maintenance needs, LeMaster moved to approve replacement of the ABS brake module on a 2011 GMC truck; Dailey seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The minutes do not list a dollar amount for that repair.
On a separate motion, LeMaster recommended and the council set 2024 Trick-or-Treat hours for Oct. 31 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.; the motion passed unanimously.
Other maintenance items discussed included a Best One quote for new front tires for the town Gator (a full-set quote to be obtained), replacement quotes for town flagpoles and holders, and quotes underway for damaged lift station lids. Warren Dailey estimated about $25,000 to upfit a 2024 Tahoe; council discussion also covered tracking devices for five town vehicles and how county ambulance representatives might use the town hall garage.
Clerk John Potter will follow up on procurement and any needed budget adjustments related to these approvals.
