The Veedersburg Town Council voted to award a contract to Performance Mechanical to replace the air-conditioning unit at the scout cabin for $5,750.
During new-business discussion the chair presented three bids for the 41-year-old unit. Bids cited in the meeting included Heing Heating and Air (higher), GT Reynolds (mid-range) and Performance Mechanical, the local bidder, whose price was announced as $5,750. A council member moved to accept the local contractor’s bid; another member seconded and the chair called the motion approved.
Council members noted the town currently has $4,000 budgeted for the project and asked staff to confirm how to cover the difference. The chair said he would double-check with the state board and other funding lines and that staff and the town attorney would follow up if necessary.
The contract award was approved by voice vote and the council directed staff to confirm the funding source before work begins.
