Kim, a council member, briefed the meeting on parks projects and upcoming community events, outlining near-term construction and fundraising steps. She said the amphitheater concrete expansion will connect sidewalks and crews are expected to be forming up this week. Picnic tables and remaining amphitheater furnishings are on order, and a damaged bench will be repurposed as a memorial bench.
Kim told members the board approved up to $600 to buy a freezer for the pool and that vendors are arranging delivery. She also encouraged advance ticket sales for a June 6 circus, which she said are $13 for adults and $8 for teens and seniors; sales at local outlets keep proceeds with the VR group rather than being routed through the ticket vendor. A community fun run earlier this season drew roughly 60–70 participants, and local volunteer Jeff Jordan donated photography services.
Kim said she is exploring additional attractions — including tethered hot-air-balloon rides and a BMX bike show — and has contacted HDH Aviation about helicopter experience tours; she is waiting for quotes and landing logistics before confirming any additions. The council asked staff to continue coordinating event logistics, required permits and public-safety support for larger attractions.
