The Sweetser Town Council on Jan. 9 approved a $6,200 engagement with RMA to prepare preliminary engineering and the grant application for CCMG Project 2025‑1, a street project covering most town streets south of State Road 18.
Jason Miller of RMA presented an estimate for the total project cost of $942,818.20 and indicated Sweetser's required 25% local match would be approximately $235,704.55. RMA proposed to hold its preliminary engineering and application fee at $6,200, the same amount charged for CCMG 2024‑1. Warren Dailey moved to approve the $6,200 proposal for Preliminary Engineering and Application preparation and submittal; Tyler Wineinger seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The council set a response deadline for engineer‑selection RFPs associated with the HSIP Trail project (related procurement) for Jan. 23, 2025, and must select a winning proposal by March 1, 2025. The approved RMA engagement covers preliminary work required to pursue the CCMG grant; the town will need to budget its local match if the grant is awarded.
