The Mount Kisco Planning Board on April 22 closed the public hearing for Bet Torah’s proposed site plan at 60 Smith Avenue and approved related waivers and environmental findings by unanimous votes.
Representatives for Bet Torah — Rich Williams of Insite Engineering, Sarah Dirsa of KG&D and attorneys P. Daniel Hollis and Sara O’Shea of Gettinger Waldinger Monteleone Gushue & Hollis LLP — presented updates, including changes related to lighting. The board recorded that no public comments were received “verbally or in writing.”
Co-Chair Crystal Pickard moved to close the public hearing; Co-Chair Michael McGuirk seconded the motion and the board voted 7–0 to close it. Pickard then moved to grant a waiver of the rear-yard buffer; Barbara Roppolo seconded, and the waiver passed 7–0. Finally, Pickard moved to adopt the resolution and a negative declaration under the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA); McGuirk seconded and the SEQRA negative declaration and resolution carried 7–0.
The approvals clear the current stage of local review for the Bet Torah site plan. The project team was present and will proceed with next procedural steps as required by the resolution.
