Council members discussed the option and asked staff to place a formal proposal on a future agenda. Rob said he has contacted retired, academy-trained officers who might be interested and that he and staff would prepare job-description changes if the council directs it. The council accepted a resignation motion and members thanked the departing officer for his service.
The marshal also noted ongoing training opportunities for current personnel and praised the utility department for responsiveness during recent storms. No formal hiring decision was made; Rob asked the council to consider the proposal at a future meeting and directed staff to prepare any necessary ordinance or job-description language for council review.
