Raphael Goodman, chair of the Inclusion and Community Council, told trustees on June 18 that the volunteer advisory group met roughly 10 times in 2025 and spent the year supporting community-building events and outreach.
Goodman reviewed the council’s participation in District 35 family-belonging events, a library rainbow-pride program and drag story hour, and described a successful school-supply and Halloween-costume drive that delivered donated costumes to Cook County Children’s Hospital. He said monetary donations from the food drive exceeded $1,000 and that outreach efforts include a "get what’s good in the neighborhood" program to highlight local businesses and organizations in the village newsletter.
The council also reduced its meeting frequency to every other month to concentrate volunteer work on events and outreach. Trustees thanked the council for its volunteer contributions; no formal board action followed the report.
