Pacific council approves lodging tax committee appointments, telecom contract and property acquisition

The Pacific City Council approved three administrative measures during its May 26, 2026 regular meeting, each by unanimous recorded vote.
Council Member Putnam moved and Council Member Katie Garberding seconded Resolution 2026-1044 appointing members to the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee; the roll call vote recorded ayes from Helms, Jackson, Petersen, Putnam, Katie Garberding and Kerry Garberding, with the motion carrying 6-0.
Later in the meeting Council Member Kerry Garberding moved and Council Member Helms seconded Resolution 2026-1045, authorizing a contract with Momentum Telecom for a new telephone system for the city. The roll call vote listed Petersen, Putnam, Katie Garberding, Kerry Garberding, Helms and Jackson voting aye; the motion carried 6-0.
The consent agenda passed and included claims and payroll vouchers as well as AB26-034a (Resolution 2026-1043) authorizing the Tyson property acquisition. The consent votes were recorded as ayes Putnam, Katie Garberding, Kerry Garberding, Helms, Jackson and Petersen; the motion carried 6-0.
Separately, Council Member Katie Garberding moved to excuse Council Member Boles earlier in the meeting; that motion received no second and the absence was listed as unexcused in the minutes.
The meeting concluded with Mayor Kave adjourning at 7:10 p.m.
