The Town of Pines Town Council approved routine year-end items at its Dec. 27 meeting, including the Dec. 4 meeting minutes and December 2024 claims. Janice Lowe moved to approve the minutes and later moved to pay the December claims; Vicki Kuzio seconded both motions and the council recorded 3-0 votes in each instance.
Clerk Treasurer Shelby Lowe said she was preparing to close the year and that payroll checks would be issued on Dec. 31. She also reported that Reith Riley (vendor) “has been processed and cleared” and that the town will send required information to Marcia (recipient not further identified in the record).
Public works reported a short leaf-collection season after a bearing failure on the town’s leaf machine. The minutes show that DNA Auto will evaluate repair or replacement options and report back. Rob (street staff) was asked to provide details of material picked up to Council member Vicki Kuzio.
On building and zoning matters, Philip Orlando presented permits for a fence at 1555 Columbia and a roof replacement at 4040 W Dunes Highway. The record lists no public comment on these items. Under new business the council noted a public meeting on Jan. 8 related to a TDD; the minutes include a question mark after “TDD,” and the item is not described further in the record.
With no additional business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:50 p.m. The clerk reminded the public that there will be no meeting in January 2025 and that the next regular meeting is Feb. 5, 2025.
