The Town of Pines Town Council voted to approve a 2025 contract with the Pines Fire Department at its Dec. 27 meeting. Shelby Lowe, the town clerk treasurer, presented the agreement and said it contains no changes from the 2024 contract. Janice Lowe moved to accept the contract and Vicki Kuzio seconded; the motion carried 3-0.
The contract was presented as a routine renewal; the minutes show no suggested amendments or debate. The council’s acceptance preserves the town’s working arrangement with the Pines Fire Department into 2025 under the same terms as the prior year.
Council members also noted annual activity levels for the fire department. The record states that the Pines Fire Department handled approximately 300 calls during the year, a figure included in the meeting record but not tied to specific budgetary adjustments at this session.
The council did not record any public comment on the contract. The clerk reminded attendees that there will be no meeting in January and that the next regular meeting is scheduled for Feb. 5, 2025.
