Residents press council on trailers, animals and property conditions during public comment

Cathi Murray, also of 1620 Colorado Ave., asked about the Fire Department's use of a township building and what would happen if the department lost access; James Prast said the council is working with Nipsco and monitoring properties on Colorado and Idaho to ensure they are handled appropriately.
Peter Dryskel asked about the NICD property and whether offices are moving; James said the town will stay in contact as the property changes use to keep the area presentable. On an alleged ongoing agricultural activity dating to a 2019 denied permit, Alan said the person continues to operate against the earlier denial; Phil noted the town code permits chickens and gardens in certain circumstances and said council would consult the attorney about enforcement and sales questions.
Council members committed to discussing the raised items with the town attorney; no immediate enforcement actions or votes were taken during the meeting.
