Town of Pines sets budget meeting for Aug. 21, schedules adoption for Sept. 4

The Town of Pines Council on Aug. 7 scheduled a budget workshop for Aug. 21 at 6:00 p.m. and set a public adoption of the town budget for Sept. 4 at 6:00 p.m., council members said during the regular meeting at Town Hall.
Janice Lowe told the council she is still working on the budget with the town representative and said she has completed work with the CCMG to enable grant processing for the town. Because Clerk Treasurer Shelby Lowe was out ill, minutes and claims were not presented and will be brought forward at the next meeting, council members said.
The dates and times announced at the meeting come as the council continues routine budget preparation and grant coordination. The council listed the next regular meeting for Sept. 4, 2024 at 6:30 p.m.; budget adoption will be considered earlier that evening at 6:00 p.m. The council adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
