The Town of Pines Council scheduled a budget workshop for 6:00 p.m. on Aug. 21, 2024, after Clerk Treasurer Shelby Mashburn said she was still finalizing the town budget and asked for a workshop to be held by Aug. 31 at the latest.
Shelby told the council she is continuing to work with the water department on street repairs and requested time to complete budget materials. The council proposed Aug. 21 at 6:00 p.m. to accommodate that timeline.
The scheduling decision came alongside routine business in the July 10 meeting, where the council also approved June minutes and claims. The council gave no immediate new direction on funding allocations; any budget changes will be considered at the workshop, when detailed line items and proposed expenditures will be presented.
Clerk Treasurer Shelby Mashburn said she is actively managing online services for the town and later told a resident that she is working on updates to the town website. The workshop date is intended to allow staff time to complete and circulate budget documents before further council action.
