Union City approves pursuing Broadband Ready Communities designation with EACOG

The application requires a public meeting stating the resolution will be passed; Councilor Kerns moved to proceed and Councilor Joyce seconded the motion, which the minutes record as carried unanimously.
Wells said borough permitting requirements align with the program’s recommendations and that the designation could create alternative options for residents. The resolution authorizes EACOG to complete the application on the borough’s behalf and to coordinate the public meeting required by the program.
