Liaison reports zoning changes, road work and PennDOT grant reapplication
Summary
At its Feb. 19 meeting the Hampden Township BoS liaison told the Land Preservation Review Board that Hempt Road is temporarily closed for improvements, I-2 parcels were rezoned back to I-1, the township reapplied for a PennDOT grant, and Ordinance 02- of 2026 amended zoning to allow structure‑mounted solar panels in I-2.
Carl Machamer, Board of Supervisors liaison to the Land Preservation Review Board, reported on several items from the Feb. 19 Board of Supervisors meeting.
Machamer said Hempt Road is temporarily closed for improvements and that Trindle/Locust Point Road safety upgrades are being considered; those upgrades will involve other parties and public discussions. He also reported that Adrian Arnold has joined the Planning Commission and that several I-2 General Industrial parcels along Texaco were rezoned back to I-1 Light Industrial.
The minutes note that the Board of Supervisors reapplied for a PennDOT grant for road upgrades. Machamer also summarized a zoning change in the minutes: “Ordinance 02- of 2026 amended zoning to allow structure-mounted solar panels as a conditional use in I-2 General Industrial.” The minutes do not include a complete ordinance number; the description in the minutes is the basis for this report.
