Brandon Towle updated the Hobart Sanitary District on the Linda & Cleveland sanitary-sewer-overflow (SSO) elimination project at the Jan. 27 meeting. Towle said road paving and restriping will be completed when weather permits and staff is coordinating with Phil Schoon to finalize a prioritized procurement list expected the following week.
Towle described a sanitary issue on Illinois Street where staff located the highest elevation of the sanitary lateral but could not determine the lateral’s exit point from the residence. Staff has requested permission from the property owner to trace the line from inside the home. Towle said a gravity connection to a new lateral may be feasible if the necessary easement is granted.
The board received these updates as part of ongoing project work; staff will finalize the procurement list and pursue easement permissions and any necessary agreements before changing construction schedules.
