Council to press Crestwood over powerlines on trailers, apparent easement encroachment

Carl Spears told the Middletown Town Council on Aug. 19 that powerlines at Crestwood are sitting on trailer roofs and that recent trailer placements have consumed more than half of a recorded easement, creating safety and access concerns.
Spears said his attempts to resolve the matter with Crestwood’s newer employees had had limited success. He told the council he will call Andy Bozwell at Crestwood and asked town staff—Joel Harvey—to send a formal letter asking Crestwood to address the powerline and easement issues.
The council did not take immediate enforcement action at the meeting but directed staff to draft correspondence to Crestwood and to return with options for next steps. The item will return to the agenda for further consideration after staff outreach.
