Superintendent reports strong bond polling and rising kindergarten enrollment as district readies master plan

The Bennett School District No. 29J superintendent told the board on May 13, 2026 that recent polling shows community support for addressing deteriorating school facilities and expanding career and technical education, security and classroom space — items that could be included in a potential bond proposal for the November ballot.

The superintendent reported a districtwide student count of 1,821, with 1,278 on campus in Bennett, and said 75 new kindergartners are already enrolled for next school year. The superintendent said these enrollment trends and poll responses support continuing work on a district master plan; the board will continue discussions with the planning team and may pursue a bond measure in November.
