Water Superintendent Russell told the Turin Town Council on Feb. 11 that he did not have the necessary equipment to complete a planned water department presentation and will come back to the March meeting to deliver it. He said he has obtained additional quotes for cleaning the town's water tower and will present those estimates at that time.
Russell also reported the town has submitted materials to the Georgia Rural Water Association (the transcript names the authority as the Georgia Rural Authority) for a prospective rate study and is waiting for their response on next steps. He added that representatives of the authority inspected the proposed future well site and reported no problems with the location.
Council members did not take formal action on water rates at the Feb. 11 meeting; Russell's presentation and the tower-cleaning quotes are scheduled for the March meeting.
