READI 2.0 update: local museum projects, sewer work and Bierhaus Flats timeline discussed

Chris Pfaff provided an update to the Knox County Commissioners on READI (Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative) progress and local projects.
Pfaff said READI 1 is complete, including the last two sewer projects, and that READI 2 projects are entered into the approval system for consideration. He noted the statewide Arts & Culture grant application is open through April 15 and identified at least two local institutions—the Red Skelton Museum and the Military Museum—as interested applicants.
Pfaff also reported local development milestones: Bierhaus Flats expects its first 24 residential units to be available in June, and an Amazon site at the Industrial Park will require sewer expansion that could be funded with tax increment financing (TIF) dollars. No firm funding commitments or project timelines beyond these statements were provided at the meeting.
