Dolores County commissioners approve series of fund transfers, a fuel-system upgrade and liquor-license renewal

The board certified mill-levy forms that were on hand and noted that forms from some towns remained outstanding; staff said they would certify levies at a special meeting on Dec. 22 if remaining forms arrive. Commissioners then approved a series of resolutions transferring small fund balances into the general fund, including: a $23,362 transfer from a public health grant fund; $21,344 from fair-and-rodeo prize funds; $6,834.98 from a fairgrounds livestock program fund; $1,533 from a fairgrounds memorial fund; $6,833.36 from an extension orchard fund; and a $315 reimbursable transfer from a 2024 Southwest RET grant. The board also approved transferring approximately $75,613.15 from the Dove Creek town sheriff contract fund into the general fund (three quarters of the payment received), with a remaining smaller transfer expected when the final quarter is paid.
Separately, the board approved a limited maintenance agreement and a $550 software upgrade for the county’s FuelMaster fuel-management system to restore fuel automation functions, and it renewed the liquor license for the Groundhog/Lazy Acres RV Park after a sheriff’s representative raised no objections.
All motions were moved, seconded and carried by voice vote; the record contains unanimous "yes" responses but does not list individual commissioner votes.
What’s next: staff will process the transfers and, if required documents arrive, certify remaining mill levies on Dec. 22. The sheriff-contract final quarter is expected to be transferred once the town submits payment.
