Board adopts updated landscape regulations, approves warrant and accepts treasurer's report

Lower Pottsgrove Township commissioners on Nov. 21 adopted Ordinance 371, which amends Chapter 215 of the Subdivision and Land Development (SALDO) landscape regulations and updates planting lists and definitions provided by the county.
Manager Edward C. Wagner said the county requested the updates to the ordinance adopted in 1994 and that the new language adds species and caliper-based definitions. The motion to adopt Ordinance 371 passed unanimously, 4-0.
The board also approved Warrant #950 for October 2024 and accepted the Treasurer’s report for October; both motions were moved by Commissioner Robert Mohollen, seconded by Commissioner Michael McGroarty, and approved 4-0. Separately, the board approved Resolution 1359-24 reappointing Commissioner William Keohane to the Pottstown Area Regional Recreation Committee; that vote passed 3-0 with Commissioner Keohane abstaining.
Why it matters: Updating SALDO landscape requirements brings the township into alignment with county-recommended species lists and standardized definitions, which can affect future land-development plan approvals. The financial approvals are routine monthly actions.
