Zoning hearing set after neighbor complaints about animals at proposed home-business property

The board reviewed correspondence about Zoning Hearing Application 2024-09 from Katelynn Taylor and Andrew Yob, who seek a special exception under Section 250-21.C to operate a low-impact home business at 970 Valley Lane. Neighbors raised concerns about the number of animals on the property and the lack of a metal fence along the road.
Manager Edward C. Wagner told commissioners that the township ordinance permits four dogs or cats over the age of one. Wagner said the applicant currently fosters approximately 30 kittens under the age of one, which are not counted under the age-one rule, and that a pot-bellied pig has been successfully relocated. Wagner said the Zoning Hearing is scheduled for Nov. 19 and that he will attend and provide a recommendation based on testimony.
Commissioner Robert Mohollen asked for clarification of the pet-limit ordinance and the board agreed to have staff present at the hearing to report findings.
