Lower Pottsgrove adopts 2025 budget and keeps property tax rate at 4.368 mills

Commissioner Robert Mohollen moved to adopt Ordinance 146-YY, the township’s 2025 budget, and Commissioner William Keohane seconded; the motion passed unanimously, 4-0. Immediately afterward, Mohollen moved to approve Ordinance 133-XX setting the 2025 real estate property tax rates — General-Purpose Fund at 2.958 mils, Fire Services Purpose at 0.66 mils, and Debt Service Purpose at 0.75 mils — for a total of 4.368 mils, the same total as 2024. The motion passed 4-0.
The tax-rate vote follows review by the township finance committee and accounting staff. Commissioner Keohane publicly thanked the finance committee and accounting staff for their work preparing the budget.
The board also approved routine financial items tied to the budget: Warrant #951 for November 2024 and the township’s November 2024 Treasurer’s report. Both motions were made by Commissioner Mohollen, seconded by Commissioner Keohane, and approved 4-0.
The township’s formal adoption of the budget and the unchanged tax rate means the approved spending plan will guide township operations and capital planning in 2025. The board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for Jan. 6, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at the Lower Pottsgrove Township Building.
