Waynesboro DDA plans cornhole fundraiser with $2,000 Guinness sponsorship and March planning meeting

The Waynesboro Downtown Development Authority is organizing a cornhole fundraiser intended to draw visitors to the north end of Liberty Street, board members said. Daniel Williams will run the tournament, collecting entry fees, setting up courts and handling scorekeeping, and Guinness has committed a $2,000 sponsorship.

Board members discussed having 12 sponsored cornhole courts with signage, two kid-friendly inflatables to be placed north of 7th Street, and two food trucks (identified as T’s and Zack’s). The plan also includes student volunteers from EBA and Burke County and the possibility of a golf cart parade run by Bo Blanchard. Don Lively said he and others are working on a personalized aluminum cup to sell with drinks during the event.
