Melham Memorial Medical Center. He said City Administrator David Schmidt has authority to approve any necessary street closures for the event.
Rebeka Anderson, speaking on behalf of Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center, said organizers "will be setting up starting at 2:30 pm that day on the north side of the square on South D Street and the North side of South 8th Avenue" and invited the public to attend. The meeting record lists planned activities including car seat checks, seat belt safety, health care vendors, EMS equipment tours and a dunk tank.
The council did not take a formal vote on the event announcement; the item was presented as a public communication and invitation to the community.
