The Woodburn Board of Works and Public Safety approved the purchase of a grass mower priced at $16,392.50 during its April 6, 2026 meeting.
Superintendent Walls presented operations updates and the mower quote; Mayor Kelsey moved to approve the quote and Board of Works member Hoeppner seconded. The motion carried with Board member Heckley abstaining. Superintendent Walls also reported that the plant pumped non‑stop for three days during heavy rain, that repaired leak‑detection loggers will be re‑deployed, bore crews were working in the area, an interview for a Utility Tech position was completed, and staff completed a class in Indianapolis.
Chief Parker said of his report, "Nothing new to report." Clerk‑Treasurer Hileman presented the minutes from the March 16, 2026 meeting; Mayor Kelsey moved to approve the minutes, Board member Heckley seconded, and the motion carried unanimously. The board signed the city's payroll.
Under Mayor Kelsey's report, members were reminded that letters of interest (LOIs) for the Woodburn Trail are due by April 9. No members of the public attended the meeting.

The meeting adjourned at 5:44 p.m. The Board of Works is scheduled to meet next on April 20 at 5:30 p.m.; minutes and recordings are posted at cityofwoodburn.org and on the city's YouTube channel.
