Woodburn council adopts Ordinances 26-1439 and 26-1440, waives second readings

Council Member Sarrazine moved to read Ordinance 26-1439 by title and Council Member Haas seconded; after the title reading Council Member Gerig moved to approve the reading, seconded by Council Member Graber. Council Member Gerig then moved to waive the second reading and adopt Ordinance 26-1439, a motion seconded by Council Member Sarrazine and carried unanimously.
The council followed the same procedure for Ordinance 26-1440: Council Member Sarrazine moved to read it by title with Council Member Haas seconding; after the reading Sarrazine moved to approve the reading (seconded by Council Member Gerig) and then moved to waive the second reading and adopt Ordinance 26-1440, with Gerig providing the second. Both ordinances were adopted with unanimous votes of those present.
Earlier in the meeting, Clerk-Treasurer Hileman presented the minutes from the March 2, 2026 meeting and the warrants for payment. Council Member Sarrazine moved to approve the minutes (seconded by Council Member Haas), and later moved to approve payment of the warrants (seconded by Council Member Gentz); both motions passed unanimously.
The council did not record any dissenting votes during the ordinances’ readings or the approvals of minutes and warrants. No text of the ordinances was read into the record in detail; the meeting minutes reflect only the title readings, motions, seconders, and unanimous outcomes.
The council announced the next regular meeting for April 6, 2026, and reminded the public that meetings are livestreamed and that approved minutes are posted on the city website.
