Buckeye Lake Regional Corporation outlines $15M-plus in regional funding, $11M for Northshore Park

Mike Fornataro, executive director of the Buckeye Lake Regional Corporation, briefed the Village of Hebron combined council committees on Feb. 19 about BLRC’s regional projects and funding successes.
Fornataro said the BLRC began with a constitutional meeting in September 2017 to unify political entities and residents in the region and to pursue private and public funding for projects. “Since 2017, the BLRC has brought over 15 million to the Buckeye Lake region,” Fornataro said, and he noted the organization is a 501(c)(3) that mixes private and public grant dollars. He said BLRC secured $11 million for Northshore Park in Buckeye Lake and described ongoing projects that include water-quality work and a proposed wetland at Honey Creek.
Fornataro also said BLRC has worked with MS Consultants and convened regional focus groups to develop project ideas, including efforts to alleviate flooding along Interstate 70. He invited Hebron council members to contact the BLRC to learn more or to explore collaboration.
