Administrators and student leaders report test check-ins, college visits and successful homecoming

School administrators and student leaders gave the board an update on tests, events and student activities during the Oct. 14 meeting.
Danielle Galbraith, speaking for elementary administration, reviewed dates for upcoming elementary events and programs over the next month. Karise Kabage, representing middle and high school administration, said PSAT and college-visit days took place Oct. 8 and reported that the first ILearn checkpoint has been completed and data are arriving for staff review.
High school student council president Zeph Reshkus and student representative Ryan Meredith told the board that "the homecoming dance was the best attended yet," and they updated trustees on Future Farmers of America events and fall athletics.
Why it matters: assessment checkpoints and college visits are part of the district's academic calendar and help staff and families track progress toward strategic-plan goals; student-council reports give trustees a snapshot of extracurricular participation and school climate.
The board accepted the reports as part of routine business.
