DelDOT officials did not provide a detailed construction schedule in the meeting minutes but indicated the infusion of federal capital would materially shorten delivery timelines for the interchange work.
Separately, the Transportation Infrastructure Investment Fund council recommended $8.8 million in awards from a $10 million fund to support eight projects; Secretary Cohan said those TIIF awards are expected to support and create more than 1,300 jobs statewide. The TIIF was created by state legislation and funded with a mix of Transportation Trust Fund and General Fund dollars.
DelDOT did not provide detailed project‑level spending plans for the INFRA grant or the TIIF awards in the minutes; the agency indicated it would circulate the presentation to council members after the meeting.
The council took no separate vote on the grant announcement; the meeting record shows routine approval of prior minutes and adjournment as the formal actions for the session.
