The Sullivan Select Board voted Feb. 17 to adopt a revised fee schedule for the town CEO and to raise demolition drop-off fees to address an ongoing budget shortfall. The board recorded the CEO fee changes as proposed by CEO Kevin Brodie and set the effective date as July 1, 2026.
At the meeting Selectman Michael Hosking moved to adopt the CEO fees as proposed; Norman Bamford seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The board then discussed the transfer-station demo dumpster, which the town pays roughly $7,000 a year to operate while current fees cover about $2,000, leaving an annual gap of approximately $5,000. To reduce that deficit, Gregory Ring moved to increase the demo fees to three times their current level and to schedule two free town-wide demo drop-off days, one in spring and one in fall; Michael Hosking seconded and the motion passed 3–0.
The board recorded the fee changes as effective July 1, 2026 and assigned an action to set specific dates for the free demo days. No ordinance or external authority was cited at the meeting; the changes were approved by motion of the Select Board and recorded in the minutes.
The decisions followed a staff report on current fees and a recommendation to adjust the schedule to reduce the town subsidy. The board did not specify exact new fee amounts in the minutes; the Town Manager is expected to publish the updated fee schedule and the dates for the free demo days before July 1.
