At its Sept. 9 meeting the Poseyville Town Council approved routine financial items, accepted a contract for a fixed-assets consultant and directed staff to update equipment quotes for town operations.
The council voted to approve the Aug. 14, 2025 meeting minutes, the Claims Docket and the Payroll Allowance Docket after those documents were circulated to members in advance. It also approved the August 2025 bank reconciliations and a newly introduced Utility Adjustment Docket prepared by Billye Robling. Motions to approve those items were made by Council Member Mike Baehl and seconded by Council President Justin Rutledge; roll-call votes recorded yes from both members present.
Clerk-Treasurer Jodie Rankin proposed contracting with Mike Crowley, a former State Board of Accounts auditor now working as a fixed-assets consultant, to complete the town's fixed-asset reporting after an audit exception. Rankin said she would use Crowley's worksheet where possible to limit consultant costs. The council approved the contract (motion by Baehl, second by Rutledge).
Rankin presented a Lieberman quote to upgrade town computers to meet Windows 11 requirements and asked the council to add a standalone computer for the Fire Department; the council asked Rankin to have Lieberman update the quote to include one additional computer and to proceed. Rankin also reported ongoing negotiations with Cintas over rising uniform and rug-service costs (about $12,000 in 2024). Cintas agreed to provide high-visibility navy shirts and offered reduced charges through negotiated service changes; Rankin and staff will draft a revised uniform plan and seek additional vendor quotes.
Rankin asked the council to obtain quotes to replace worn bathroom floors in the Community Center and to polish hallway and main-hall floors; the council agreed to seek quotes. Police and fire departments reported no additional business at the meeting. The council set its next meeting for Oct. 15, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. and adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
