Fire Chief Kolley asked the council to authorize professional cleaning of the department's seven sets of turnout gear at an estimated $20 per set (about $140). The council approved the $140 expenditure from the Turnout Gear line item on a motion by Mike Baehl, seconded by Randy Rankin (roll-call yes votes).
The clerk presented two quotes to repair the fire-station roof: $6,617.25 from Alan Schmitt and $6,385.00 from Motz Construction. The clerk advised the Building Maintenance budget had been depleted and that the cost would be paid from the EDIT fund. Mike Baehl moved to accept the Motz Construction quote of $6,385.00, and Randy Rankin seconded; the motion passed on a unanimous roll-call vote. Baehl noted Motz Construction may face a scheduling delay and said he would confirm the timeline with the contractor.
Separately, Marshal Carter discussed the speed-trailer report and said he is still learning how to generate the report and will review the data; he mentioned the possibility of placing the sign permanently in the area. No formal action was taken on the speed trailer.
