The Poseyville Town Council voted July 8 to officially close the town office daily from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Clerk-Treasurer Jodie Rankin proposed the change to ensure staff who sometimes work alone receive a guaranteed lunch break and to provide consistency for the public by aligning the closure with the Post Office. Rankin also noted the schedule aligns the office hours with those listed in the town's Salary Ordinance.
Randy Rankin moved to approve the daily 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. lunch closure; Mike Baehl seconded. The council approved the motion by roll-call vote: Justin Rutledge (yes), Mike Baehl (yes), Randy Rankin (yes). The clerk will implement the change and communicate the new daily hours to the public.
