Poseyville council approves $525,000 in county ARPA funds for Community Growth & Innovation

The Poseyville Town Council on June 17 approved Additional Appropriations totaling $525,000 in County ARPA funds to the Community Growth & Innovation fund.
President Justin Rutledge opened a public hearing on Resolution No. 2025-06-17-01, which would appropriate $200,000 to professional services (4450.001.311), $100,000 to other services and charges (4450.001.361) and $225,000 to infrastructure (4450.001.442). No members of the public spoke during the hearing. Following discussion, the council approved the resolution by roll-call vote with Rutledge recorded as voting no and Council Members Mike Baehl and Randy Rankin voting yes.
Town Attorney William Bender recommended bundling several housekeeping resolutions related to inter-fund transfers and dormant accounts; the council approved Resolutions No. 2025-06-17-02 through 2025-06-17-05 in a single motion (Rutledge no). Later, the council also approved Resolution No. 2025-06-17-07 authorizing additional fund transfers.
Clerk-Treasurer Jodie Rankin provided a budget calendar and requested a July planning session after tax notices are received from the county. The council set a budget public hearing for Sept. 9, 2025, and a budget adoption meeting for Oct. 15, 2025.
The appropriations are ARPA funds received after the adoption of the 2025 budget; council members characterized the approvals as housekeeping necessary to make the funds available for future projects.
