APS outlines wildfire mitigation and Public Safety Power Shutoff protocols to Tusayan council

Pat Fraher and Abi Zustiak explained vegetation management, infrastructure upgrades, monitoring systems including fire-detection cameras, weather monitoring and emergency communications protocols. Fraher and Zustiak emphasized that PSPS is a last-resort operational tool intended to reduce wildfire risk, and they said no PSPS events have occurred in the past two years.
Presenters directed residents and visitors to keep APS account contact information up to date to receive PSPS notifications via text, email and phone, and noted aps.com/psps provides a live map of addresses the company expects would be affected in a PSPS event.
