Highway representative Leo described recent paving on downtown streets and asked the board for consensus to complete a shim-and-overlay from the mini-storage near Harvest and Market back beyond Merrimack Log Homes. He estimated roughly 1,500 tons of material would be required and put the project cost at about $140,000, noting favorable asphalt prices and an expected 15-year extension to pavement life if the work proceeds now.
Selectman Marco moved to let the roads superintendent enter into an agreement to do the paving as outlined and to expend funds from the expendable trust; the motion was seconded, discussed briefly, and approved with a unanimous vote (motion carries 5–0). Board members noted the town has sufficient funds in the expendable trust and that shifting market prices had made the timing advantageous.
The board did not identify additional permitting or external approvals that would delay work, and the highway representative said crews hoped to begin as soon as weather and scheduling allow.
