Statham council approves corrections to past minutes, receives routine reports; no members of public spoke

Councilmember Penn moved to approve the July 16, July 25 and July 29, 2024 meeting minutes; Councilmember Burnette seconded and the motion passed 5-0. The council then approved multiple amendments to earlier minutes: Councilmember Patterson moved to amend the Jan. 4, 2024 minutes to insert a paragraph documenting an executive session at 7:53 p.m. on employment matters (ending at 8:22 p.m.), with Burnette seconding; the amendment passed 5-0. Patterson also moved amendments to the Jan. 30 and March 19, 2024 minutes to record executive-session timing, attendees and outcomes; those amendments were seconded (Jan. 30 by Terilli; March 19 by Burnette) and each passed 5-0.
Assistant City Accountant Karine Brooms presented the finance report; Lt. Hood gave the police report; City Administrator Cheryl Venable and Director of Public Works Brett Day delivered the public works report. Committee updates included reports from the Events Committee and the Beautification & Tree Committee.
Councilmember Bogenrieder described the Statham Heroes banner program and Mayor Krause discussed a suggested rental agreement and fees for Statham sporting fields. The public-input portion of the agenda drew no speakers. Councilmember Penn moved to adjourn, Councilmember Burnette seconded, and the meeting adjourned at 7:10 p.m. after a recorded 5-0 vote.
The minutes as amended will be effective nunc pro tunc to the dates specified in the amended entries; the transcript records the specific times and attendee lists for the historic executive sessions that the council voted to add to the minutes.
