Council on Transportation approves amendment to FY21–FY26 CTP, adds 15 projects for 30 total

The Council on Transportation voted unanimously Aug. 29 to amend the Draft FY21–FY26 Capital Transportation Program (CTP) to add 15 newly proposed projects to the 15 projects approved last year, producing a total of 30 new projects for public recommendation.
Drew Boyce, DelDOT director of planning, reviewed the draft CTP and described it as containing 15 additional projects proposed for public recommendation. Chairman Ted Williams asked for a motion to amend the council’s prior approval to include the new projects. Councilwoman Pam Scott moved to approve the amendment; Councilman John Gilbert seconded and the motion carried with unanimous support from members present.
Why it matters: the CTP sets the state’s prioritized capital projects for the next multi-year cycle. Boyce said public hearings will be held in each county and that council members are encouraged to attend; a review of hearing comments will be presented at the council’s December meeting.
