Poseyville approves street patching, advances ADA planning for grant eligibility and okays community center flooring

Poseyville councilors Oct. 15 approved several maintenance and grant‑preparation actions: they selected David Enterprises, Inc. to perform patching work for $5,756.40 (contingent that any supplemental quote not exceed $8,500) and discussed including recently cut spots associated with gas valve work.
Clerk‑Treasurer Jodie Rankin said the town is preparing a Community Crossing Matching Grant (CCMG) application for a crack‑sealing 2026 project but must address ADA compliance to remain eligible. Rankin listed three required items: an ADA ordinance, an ADA complaint process, and an ADA plan (to be submitted prior to Oct. 1 each year). Rankin said the town has installed ADA‑compliant ramps on recent projects and that CHA Consulting can prepare an inventory and a formal ADA plan; the council directed staff to seek a quote and look for grant funding to assist.
The council approved a Hasgoe, Inc. quote of $5,439.20 to strip and polish Community Center floors to address visible damage in the back hallway; Hasgoe cautioned some scratches that extend into tile may not be fully removable. The council also recorded Motz Construction's discovery that the fire station roof damage is broader than expected (work may cost about double the original quote) and approved a $1,500 generator replacement part to prevent further damage. On a contingency purchase motion the council approved replenishment of medical supplies not to exceed $212.80.
Council members asked staff to pursue ADA planning and grant strategy because CCMG funding (80% match) is important for future street projects.
