Poseyville approves inspections, wastewater study and an $85,929.88 payment request tied to infrastructure projects

The council voted to approve a set of actions related to utility infrastructure on Oct. 15. President Justin Rutledge presented an agreement with CHA Consulting, Inc. and Midwestern Engineers to perform inspections for Farmington Ridge utility infrastructure; council members noted the CHA Evansville office will reduce travel costs. The council approved the CHA agreement on a motion by Mike Baehl.
Clerk‑Treasurer Jodie Rankin presented an after-docket payment request from HVG (Invoice 101) in the amount of $85,929.88; the council approved the payment so it could be paid before the next claims docket.
President Rutledge also reviewed an engagement letter from LWG for a wastewater rate study associated with the High School Sewer project; Rankin reported that the Indiana Finance Authority (IFA) confirmed study costs would be included in the IFA finance package once project bids are received. The council approved the LWG engagement letter.
The council discussed HVG's request to temporarily remove a light pole at the Vine and Oak entrance to Farmington Ridge for expansion; members expressed safety concerns and asked the clerk to consult the Duke engineer about relocating the light.
Clint Lamb, an AIM representative, later suggested the council consider a 15% surcharge on utilities for customers outside the town limits or those who decline super voluntary annexation; the council did not take immediate action but will schedule further discussion.
