Selectman Michael Hosking told the Sullivan Select Board on March 16 that his assessment of local roads identified Morancy Road and Grange Hall Road as the highest priorities for road and tree work, and he urged immediate replacement of a failing culvert on Tucker Mountain Road.
"He suggests to be done in this order: Morancy Road first, Grange Hall Road second, Thorne Road third and then the upper part of Tunk Lake Road," Hosking said during his report and added that Tucker Mountain Road "itself is fine but the culvert needs to be fixed now." The board directed the Town Manager to contact contractors on file for quotes to repair the Tucker Mountain Road culvert.
Hosking also recommended approaching local contractor Rob Marshall for tree work as an "economically and ecologically friendly" option. The motion to table detailed road-selection decisions until the next meeting was recorded; the immediate, actionable item from March 16 was the request to obtain quotes for the culvert repair.
The board did not adopt a final schedule or funding source at the March 16 meeting; the minutes note a separate grant for a culvert study has been received and will be put in motion when weather allows. The March 16 agenda lists further road-selection and tree-trimming discussion for the next meeting.
