Union City Borough Council on July 9 discussed proposed amendments to the zoning ordinance to address vacant adjoining lots, including allowing above-ground pools and removable sheds.
Council noted changes previously presented and approved for Skill Games of Chance. Proposed new language would permit above-ground pools on adjoining vacant lots and allow sheds up to 144 square feet if set on a gravel base, skids or pillars so they remain removable; front-yard setback requirements would still apply while no setback would be required from an adjoining property line. Solicitor Tim Wachter will prepare suggested amendment language for council to review in a future meeting.
No formal vote was recorded on the zoning text changes at this meeting; council discussed options and directed the solicitor to draft proposed ordinance language for subsequent consideration.
