Council approves amended operating agreement for McCoy Center; city to assume operating costs

New Albany’s City Council voted 7–0 on Oct. 7 to approve Resolution R37 20 25, a third amended and restated joint operating agreement for the McCoy Center for the Arts.
The amendment follows discussions with the New Albany Community Foundation, which will cede operational funding responsibility to the city so it can focus on programming and grants. The revised agreement reduces the McCoy board from 15 representatives to 12 (four city seats, four school district, three township and one ex‑officio) and preserves term limits and grandfathering of current members until their terms expire.
Staff said the city and school district will collaborate more closely on operating decisions and will continue to engage the McCoy board on programming and fundraising. Council adopted the resolution after a brief presentation and no public comment.
