Council adopts final plat for Richmond Square Lot 10, clearing six townhome lots for construction

The New Albany City Council on Oct. 7 voted 7–0 to adopt Ordinance O39 20 25, approving the final plat for Richmond Square Lot 10. The approval plats six residential townhome lots and one reserve consistent with previously approved architectural and site plans.
City staff explained that earlier permits had allowed construction to start based on an understanding the units would be platted as condominiums; subsequent review clarified a traditional plat was required. The planning commission reviewed the final plat on Sept. 15 and recommended approval.
Council members asked staff to follow up on a question about exterior elevations and the appearance of doorways facing West Main Street; staff agreed to inspect the constructed elevations and report back. With no public comment on the plat, Mayor Spalding called the vote and the clerk recorded seven yes votes to adopt the ordinance.
