Village council approves community event, personnel moves and lagoon cameras; holds second reading of water-rate ordinance

Council member Chris Healy moved to approve the event; Nick Stephy seconded and the motion passed with Healy, Jamie Hohenberger, Rico Valdez, Stephy and Jeffery Rothman voting yes (Mike Medina was absent).
The council entered executive session at 7:10 p.m. to discuss personnel and returned to open session at 7:18 p.m. Afterward, Jeffery Rothman moved to accept the resignation of Kaleb Hedeans and to advertise to fill the position; Nick Stephy seconded and the motion carried. The council also authorized Mike Gustwiller to work up to 40 hours per week until extra help is hired, on a motion by Chris Healy and a second by Nick Stephy.
Mayor Wyandt announced community dates and operational notes: Trick-or-Treat is set for Oct. 26 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.; fall cleanup is scheduled for Sept. 26–28; and the tree-removal contractor A CUT ABOVE will be in town on Sept. 23. The mayor said she would contact Civista Bank about obtaining a village credit card. Council member Chris Healy left the meeting at 7:45 p.m. for a rescue run and was recorded as absent for later votes.
